Making Theatre accessible to all
The Willliam Shakespeare Theatre Company is a Baltimore-based theatre company focused on providing technical and acting experience to young adults and teens while making theatre inexpensive to the public. In order to do so, we fundraise and collaborate with businesses to make art accessible for all Baltimoreans.
Starting in December of 2025, our theatre company will put on our inaugural performance of Macbeth: A Southern Tragedy, taking on the famous tragedy but with an American Southern twist.
We tackle accessibility on two levels:
Financially and in Comprehensibility
Financially: Making performance tickets free and providing free workshops to the public
Comprehensibility: Having classic Shakespearean plays with a twist to not only draw people in, but make them easier to understand through accent work and other theatrical elements
